A Day in My Life on Maui
People ask what a typical day looks like for me, and the truth is there isn't really one — but here's the shape most days take.
Morning views in Pukalani looking towards the valley.
I'm up early, because mornings are hands-down the best part of the day here. Everything's still quiet, the birds are going, and I'll drink my coffee out in our sunroom with the dogs before anything else starts. No phone, no to-do list yet — just five or ten minutes to actually wake up.
After that, it's a bit of computer time: emails, checking my calendar, seeing what's new on the market. Then breakfast — usually eggs and whatever local veggies we've got on hand — before heading into town to actually get things done. Some days that means bidding out cabinets, appliances, or paint colors for a property management project. Other days I'm scoping out an open house for a buyer I've had in mind, snapping photos, and sending them over right away. If I need to print documents or pull together a CMA, that usually means a drive down to the Compass office in Wailea.
By midday I'm typically back home, where my husband and I get a workout in, then head straight out for the dogs' evening walk around the neighborhood — which usually turns into a few minutes of catching up with the neighbors and their dogs too.
The evenings are the slow part: cooking dinner, watching the sunset from the backyard, and winding down with whatever show or movie we're into before bed.
It's not glamorous, but it's a good life — and most days, that's exactly the point.
